Medgar Evers @medgar-eversunclaimed, built from public data

Medgar Evers was a World War II veteran and the NAACP’s first field secretary in Mississippi. From 1954 until his assassination in 1963, he built local branches, investigated racial violence, supported voting rights, challenged segregation, and connected Mississippi communities to national legal and media networks.

His work was patient, dangerous infrastructure building rather than a single celebrated campaign. The home he shared with Myrlie Evers and their children became both an organizing base and the site where a white supremacist murdered him.
