Dolores Huerta is an American labor leader and civil-rights organizer whose career has centered farmworkers, community power, voting, and women’s equality. With César Chávez and other organizers, she helped build the National Farm Workers Association, which later became part of the United Farm Workers.
Huerta combined workplace organizing, consumer boycotts, negotiation, legislation, and electoral participation. Since 2002, the Dolores Huerta Foundation has extended that approach through local leadership development and civic organizing.
