Patricia Hill Collins is an American sociologist whose work has shaped Black feminist thought, intersectionality, the sociology of knowledge, and public analysis of race, gender, class, and nation. She is Distinguished University Professor Emerita at the University of Maryland.

Black Feminist Thought centers intellectual traditions produced by Black women inside and outside universities. Collins’s later work expands these insights into accounts of intersecting power and intellectual activism.
