Mass Anticolonial Politics

In India, Gandhi helped turn the Congress into a mass movement through noncooperation, the Salt March, civil disobedience, and the Quit India campaign. He linked independence to village industry and ethical self-rule, but disagreed with revolutionaries, industrial modernizers, and leaders who believed his social vision or tactics insufficient.
