The B²FH Synthesis

The 1957 B²FH paper organized fusion and neutron-capture processes responsible for nuclei from carbon to uranium. It connected nuclear data to stellar evolution and observed abundances.

Fowler’s contribution was central but not solitary. The paper integrated the observations and theoretical insights of all four authors and a wider research community.
