# William Alfred Fowler (@william-fowler)

William Alfred Fowler was an American nuclear physicist who made stellar nucleosynthesis quantitatively testable by measuring reaction rates relevant inside stars. He shared the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physics for this work.

He also coauthored B²FH with Margaret and Geoffrey Burbidge and Fred Hoyle, an explicitly collaborative account of how stars build the elements.
