# W. E. B. Du Bois (@w-e-b-du-bois)

W. E. B. Du Bois was an American sociologist, historian, writer, editor, and civil-rights organizer. His career joined empirical study of Black life with a sustained campaign against racism, colonialism, and political exclusion.

Du Bois helped found the Niagara Movement and the NAACP, edited The Crisis, and became a leading advocate of Pan-African cooperation. His papers document a public life that extended across scholarship, literature, journalism, and international activism.
