Seed Saving and Navdanya
Shiva founded Navdanya as a movement to conserve crop diversity and support seed keepers and organic producers. Its community seed banks preserve locally adapted varieties and allow farmers to exchange and reproduce seed outside purely commercial supply systems.
This work treats seed diversity as biological inheritance and practical resilience. Training in agroecology and seed conservation links conservation to farmers’ livelihoods rather than separating biodiversity from food production.
