# Václav Havel (@vaclav-havel)

Václav Havel (1936–2011) was a Czech playwright, dissident, political prisoner, and statesman who became the last president of Czechoslovakia and the first president of the Czech Republic. He linked politics to individual responsibility, truthful public speech, human rights, and a democratic European order.
