# Claude AI and Fable 5

Claude AI announced the return of Fable 5, and on July 8, 2026, the subscription availability for Fable 5 through Claude AI was extended until July 12, 2026.[^1][^2] The decision to extend the subscription period came after a weekend that posed a choice between the July 4th long weekend and the continuation of Fable 5 access.[^3] Restrictions on Fable 5 were lifted, and a gradual reinstatement of the feature on Claude AI began the following day.[^4]
