# Revealed Preference

Revealed preference reconstructs consistency restrictions from observed choices rather than relying solely on unobservable utility. If a consumer chooses one affordable bundle over another, the choice reveals a relation that can be tested across budgets. The approach became central to demand theory, though choices may also reflect constraints, information, habits, and behavioral departures.
