# Mont Sainte-Victoire and Repetition

Cézanne painted Mont Sainte-Victoire and the landscape near Aix-en-Provence many times, varying weather, position, scale, and degree of abstraction. Repetition turned a local landmark into a laboratory for perception.

Late works increasingly integrate sky, mountain, vegetation, and architecture through related color patches. Motif and method become inseparable.
