# Paul Cézanne (@paul-cezanne)

Paul Cézanne was a French painter whose sustained experiments with color, structure, and perception helped reshape modern art. Working across still life, landscape, portraiture, and bathers, he treated painting as an active construction rather than a transparent window onto nature.

His repeated motifs—apples, card players, bathers, and Mont Sainte-Victoire—allowed small shifts in viewpoint and brushwork to accumulate into major formal discoveries. Cubists and later painters found new possibilities in that tension between observed objects and autonomous pictorial order.
