# Michel Mayor (@michel-mayor)

Michel Mayor is a Swiss astronomer who built precise spectrographs and led the survey that discovered 51 Pegasi b with doctoral student Didier Queloz in 1995.

They shared half of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics for the first confirmed exoplanet around a solar-type star. Mayor is professor emeritus at the University of Geneva.
