# Meghnad Saha (@meghnad-saha)

Meghnad Saha was an Indian astrophysicist whose thermal-ionization equation connected stellar spectra with temperature, pressure, and atomic ionization. It gave astronomers a physical method for interpreting the absorption lines in starlight.

Saha also built research and educational institutions, edited the journal Science and Culture, advocated national planning, and served in India’s parliament. He treated science as both a source of knowledge and infrastructure for public development.
