# Voting, Education, and Economic Pressure

Evers meticulously documented techniques used to block Black registration and sent evidence to federal officials. He also organized boycotts against segregated businesses and helped James Meredith pursue admission to the University of Mississippi.

These efforts combined several forms of leverage: federal litigation, consumer action, publicity, voter organization, and direct local participation. Integration was pursued as a change in power and access, not merely physical proximity.
