# Mariana Mazzucato (@mariana-mazzucato)

Mariana Mazzucato is an Italian-American economist whose work examines innovation, public value, state capacity, and mission-oriented policy. UCL currently lists her as Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value and founding director of its Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose. Her research challenges a simple opposition between dynamic private enterprise and passive government.
