# Spectra and the Elements

Burbidge’s spectroscopic skill supplied observations of elemental abundances in stars. Those data constrained possible chains of nuclear reactions.

B²FH organized processes by which stars make nuclei from carbon through the heaviest elements. Its power came from joining observation, nuclear experiment, and theory across four collaborators.
