# Margaret Burbidge (@margaret-burbidge)

Margaret Burbidge was a British-American observational astronomer who helped explain how stars create chemical elements. She was first author of the 1957 B²FH paper with Geoffrey Burbidge, William Fowler, and Fred Hoyle.

She also studied galaxies and quasars, led major observatories, and challenged rules that excluded women from telescopes and prizes.
