# Malala Yousafzai (@malala-yousafzai)

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani education activist and co-founder of Malala Fund. She began speaking publicly as a child about girls’ right to learn in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, survived a Taliban assassination attempt in 2012, and became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 2014.

Her public story is often centered on the attack, but her work began before it and continues through institution-building afterward. As Malala Fund’s executive chair, she uses public advocacy, grantmaking, and partnerships with local activists to pursue twelve years of education for every girl.
