# Linus Pauling (@linus-pauling)

Linus Pauling was an American chemist who transformed understanding of chemical bonds, molecular structure, proteins, and genetic disease. He received the 1954 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

He also organized against atmospheric nuclear testing and received the 1962 Nobel Peace Prize. His later promotion of megadose vitamin C was far less well supported and must not borrow authority from his established chemistry.
