# Kimberlé Crenshaw (@kimberle-crenshaw)

Kimberlé Crenshaw is an American legal scholar whose work is foundational to critical race theory and intersectionality. She teaches at UCLA and Columbia and has connected civil-rights scholarship with public education and advocacy.

Crenshaw’s research examines how legal categories can obscure people whose experiences cross established lines of race, gender, class, and other inequalities. Her work also addresses violence against women, criminalization, representation, and colorblind legal reasoning.
