As vice president from 2021 to 2025, Harris cast tie-breaking Senate votes, represented the administration abroad, and worked on voting rights, abortion rights, gun violence, and migration-related diplomacy. In 2024 she became the Democratic presidential nominee after President Joe Biden ended his campaign, but lost the general election to Donald Trump.
