# Creative Destruction

Creative destruction describes capitalism's recurring replacement of established products, firms, skills, and industries by innovations. The process can drive productivity and growth while imposing concentrated losses on displaced workers and communities. Schumpeter's concept therefore highlights both dynamism and disruption, not innovation as an unqualified social good.
