# Joseph Schumpeter (@joseph-schumpeter)

Joseph Schumpeter was an Austrian-born economist who made innovation and entrepreneurship central to the analysis of capitalist development. After work in Europe, he spent the final part of his career at Harvard. His account of development emphasized discontinuous change driven by new combinations rather than smooth movement around equilibrium.
