# Joan Robinson (@joan-robinson)

Joan Robinson was a British economist whose work challenged competitive-market assumptions and pushed Keynesian economics toward questions of time, accumulation, power, and distribution. Her 1933 Economics of Imperfect Competition was an early major contribution, and her later critique of capital theory initiated a transatlantic controversy. She built her career at Cambridge despite formidable barriers to women in economics.
