# Isamu Noguchi (@isamu-noguchi)

Isamu Noguchi was a Japanese American sculptor and designer whose work crossed sculpture, landscape, furniture, and theater. The work is associated with carved stone, biomorphic form, spatial experience, and dialogue between Japanese and American traditions. Major examples include Akari light sculptures, the Noguchi table, gardens, playground proposals, and stage designs for Martha Graham. A balanced account also considers his refusal of rigid boundaries between fine art, design, and public space.
