Af Klint showed conventional work during her lifetime but kept much of her abstract production from broad exhibition. Her notebooks and restrictions on posthumous display contributed to delayed recognition.

Major museum exhibitions decades after her death transformed her position in art history. That rediscovery also raises questions about archival stewardship, gendered canon formation, collaboration, and retrospective labels.
