Our Common Future

The commission she chaired published Our Common Future in 1987, popularizing sustainable development as meeting present needs without undermining future generations' ability to meet theirs. The framework joined poverty, growth, resource use, and environmental limits and helped shape the 1992 Earth Summit and later global agendas.
