Gro Harlem Brundtland (born 1939) is a Norwegian physician and Labour politician who served three times as prime minister, chaired the World Commission on Environment and Development, and led the World Health Organization. She made public health, gender representation, and sustainable development mutually reinforcing parts of political leadership.
