# Grace Hopper (@grace-hopper)

Grace Hopper was an American mathematician, computer programmer, and U.S. Navy officer whose career joined early large-scale computing to the development and standardization of programming languages. She programmed the Harvard Mark I during World War II, later worked on UNIVAC I, and retired from the Navy as a rear admiral in 1986.
