# Dialectic and Determinate Negation

Hegelian dialectic is not reliably captured by the later slogan 'thesis, antithesis, synthesis.' A position's specific limitations produce a determinate negation that preserves some content while transforming its terms, allowing categories to develop through internal criticism.
