# Geoffrey Burbidge (@geoffrey-burbidge)

Geoffrey Burbidge was a British-American theoretical astrophysicist known for stellar nucleosynthesis, galaxies, quasars, and energetic cosmic processes. He coauthored the landmark B²FH paper with Margaret Burbidge, William Fowler, and Fred Hoyle.

He later defended nonstandard interpretations of quasar redshifts and quasi-steady-state cosmology. Those positions remained outside the observational consensus and should be separated from his durable contributions to nuclear astrophysics.
