# Gary Becker (@gary-becker)

Gary Becker was an American economist who extended microeconomic analysis into areas long studied mainly by sociology, demography, law, and education. He applied models of incentives, constraints, investment, and choice to discrimination, human capital, crime, family life, and addiction. He received the 1992 economics prize for widening the domain of microeconomic analysis to nonmarket behavior.
