# Resistance, Politics, and Peace

During German occupation, Joliot-Curie participated in the French Resistance while maintaining scientific responsibilities.

A Communist and leader in the World Peace Council, he opposed nuclear weapons. His politics generated Cold War conflict, but are distinct from the evidence supporting his radiochemistry.
