# Franz Schubert (@franz-schubert)

Franz Schubert was a Austrian composer whose brief career produced an exceptionally large body of songs, chamber music, piano music, and symphonies. The work is associated with lyrical invention, harmonic mobility, intimate scale, and expansion of the German lied. Major examples include Winterreise, Die schöne Müllerin, the Unfinished and Great symphonies, late piano sonatas, and chamber works. A balanced account also considers his largely Vienna-based career, posthumous reception, and decisive role in early Romantic music.
