Science Beyond a Single Discovery

Finding the Higgs boson completed a central prediction of the Standard Model, but it did not finish particle physics. ATLAS and other experiments continue measuring the particle’s properties and searching for phenomena the model does not explain.

Gianotti has consistently framed large facilities as long-term investments in knowledge, technology, and international cooperation. That case must coexist with scrutiny of cost and priorities, making transparent collective governance essential.
