# Esther Duflo (@esther-duflo)

Esther Duflo is a French-American economist whose research uses field evidence to study poverty, education, health, governance, and development policy. MIT identifies her as a professor of poverty alleviation and development economics and a co-founder and co-director of J-PAL, alongside other current academic leadership roles. She shared the 2019 economics prize for an experimental approach to alleviating global poverty.
