Daron Acemoglu is a Turkish-American economist whose work spans political economy, development, labor, technology, growth, and economic history. MIT currently lists him as an Institute Professor. He shared the 2024 economics prize with Simon Johnson and James A. Robinson for studies of how institutions are formed and affect prosperity.
