# Cornel West (@cornel-west)

Cornel West is an American philosopher, theologian, author, and activist whose public philosophy joins African American critical thought, democratic politics, Christian witness, literature, and music. He holds the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Chair at Union Theological Seminary and is professor emeritus at Princeton.

West is best known for books including Race Matters and Democracy Matters. Across scholarship, lectures, and activism, he presents intellectual work as a form of truth-telling directed toward love, justice, and democratic renewal.
