# Corazon Aquino (@corazon-aquino)

Corazon Aquino (1933–2009) was a democracy leader and president of the Philippines from 1986 to 1992, the country's first woman president. Elevated by opposition to Ferdinand Marcos after her husband Benigno Aquino Jr.'s assassination, she became the civilian face of the People Power uprising and restored constitutional government.
