# No. 5 and Brand Extension

Chanel No. 5 was created in 1921 with perfumer Ernest Beaux. A 1924 partnership with Pierre and Paul Wertheimer formed the Société des Parfums Chanel, showing how the Chanel identity extended beyond couture through fragrance, cosmetics, and licensing relationships.
