# Structural Anthropology

Lévi-Strauss adapted structural analysis to anthropology by focusing on relations among elements rather than treating customs as isolated objects. Cultural systems could be compared through contrasts, combinations, and transformations that organize meaning.

The approach did not claim that cultures were identical. It looked for limited relational possibilities through which diverse institutions and classifications were composed.
