Later series move through fashion imagery, historical portraits, clowns, horror, aging socialites, and digitally assembled personas. Beauty and disgust often coexist, exposing the labor and anxiety behind acceptable appearance.

Sherman does not provide a single moral interpretation of each character. Humor, empathy, cruelty, and caricature remain uneasily available to the viewer.
