# Building Berkshire Hathaway

After practicing law and managing investments, Munger joined Berkshire's board in 1978. Warren Buffett credited him with supplying the design for a company built by acquiring strong businesses at sensible prices, a shift from relying mainly on deeply discounted troubled assets.
