An Interdisciplinary and Contested Program
The Buckingham Centre for Astrobiology brings astronomy together with biology and origins-of-life research. Under Wickramasinghe, it continues a program previously based at Cardiff and collaborates through an international network.
Wickramasinghe's work illustrates both the value and risk of research at disciplinary boundaries. Speculative hypotheses can generate testable questions, but institutional affiliation or a long publication record does not by itself establish a claim; evidence and independent replication remain decisive.
