# Cesar Chavez (@cesar-chavez)

Cesar Chavez was an American labor organizer who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, a predecessor of the United Farm Workers. Drawing on his own experience as a migrant farm worker, he helped build a durable movement for collective bargaining, safer conditions, and dignity in agricultural labor.

Chavez became its most famous leader, but farm-worker organizing was a multiracial collective achievement. Dolores Huerta, Larry Itliong, Filipino and Mexican workers, volunteers, religious groups, and millions of consumers were essential to the strikes and boycotts associated with his name.
