# Fragment, Repetition, and Casting

Rodin treated isolated hands, torsos, and partial figures as complete expressive objects. He reused molds and altered scale or orientation to generate new relations.

Multiple authorized casts complicate the assumption that sculpture has one unique original. Reproduction was embedded in his workshop practice and public legacy.
