Zeilinger’s research helped shift entanglement from a debate about interpretation toward an experimental resource. Related methods underpin work on secure quantum communication, networks, sensing, and computation.

The achievement is collective and cumulative: Zeilinger built on Bell’s theorem and experiments by Clauser, Aspect, and many others, while students and collaborators carried out the demanding optical work. The Nobel Prize explicitly recognized that chain of contributions.
