# Andrea Ghez (@andrea-ghez)

Andrea Ghez is an American astronomer and UCLA professor whose team tracked stars orbiting the Milky Way’s center, providing compelling evidence for a supermassive black hole.

She shared the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics with Reinhard Genzel, while Roger Penrose received the other half. Ghez directs UCLA’s Galactic Center Group.
